Tropical Storm Fernand forms in the Gulf of Mexico

Tropical Storm Fernand is already weakening as it moves into Mexico this morning.

The biggest threat from this storm is heavy rainfall which could amount to a foot or more in isolated locations causing flash flooding and mudslides.

Fernand will not survive too much longer and is expected to weaken into a remnant low by later today or tonight.

In fact, it could be downgraded to a Tropical Depression later this morning.

Residents in Mexico will have to deal with heavy rainfall from Fernand, and its remnants, for at least the next 3-5 days.
