The Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge held their Earth Day project on Saturday.

Volunteers got on airboats and put on their bibs to help clean up an old water testing site that's been abandoned for about 20 years.

After the site was abandoned, hurricanes spread debris throughout the Everglades.

Volunteers say it would have cost the federal government about $50,000 to do the work done by volunteers.
