(NBC) - Two cameras captured the moments a small plane crashed Sunday onto a street in Pinellas County.
Sheriff’s deputies were near the area for an unrelated call when dashcam recorded video of the plane heading right for them.
The pilot told deputies that he had engine trouble near Clearwater Airpark and knew he couldn’t make it back to land safely.
The pilot said he started looking for a safe place to land and spotted the road.
The left wing struck a tree as he tried to land, and then spun and crashed. The pilot and a passenger were uninjured.
