U.S. Coast Guard searching for surivors of plane that crashed between Bahamas and Florida

MIAMI, Fla. — The U.S. Coast Guard and Bahamian officials are searching for a plane that crashed on its way from the Bahamas to Florida Monday.

According to Coast Guard officials, Federal Aviation Administration officials lost communications with the two passengers of the small airplane after it departed from Marsh Harbor, Bahamas and was en route to Daytona Beach.

The Coast Guard, Bahamian authorities, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and the Bahamian Air and Sea Rescue Association continue to search for the plane and its two possible survivors as of Tuesday morning.
