VERO BEACH, Fla. - A 60-year-old Vero Beach man has been missing since Feb. 5, and authorities are asking the public for help.
Thomas Hoffman was last seen when his father dropped him off at a hotel in the 1700 block of US 1, according to a news release from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives confirmed that Hoffman paid for a night at the hotel but has not been seen since.
On Feb. 7, the missing man’s ATM card was used at a bank in the 2000 block of 58th Avenue by a person who investigators said was not Hoffman.
Detectives are asking for the public's help to identify the man in the ATM transaction. The sheriff’s office said Hoffman has a history of mental illness and drug use.
