Sunniland Patio Furniture, family owned furniture store, goes up in flames

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A burned building is what remains of the Sunniland Patio Furniture in West Palm Beach. Customer Louis Levy cannot believe his eyes. "I'm just kind of shocked."

Louis came to the store Thursday morning to buy patio furniture, but instead found out a massive fire engulfed the building overnight.

"I am just looking at the whole facility and I am saying to myself, oh my God, it's crazy, "n said Louis.

The fire broke out Wednesday night. Dozens of firefighters worked together to put out the blaze, which took several hours to control.

As investigators sift through the rubble to figure out how this fire started, customers who purchased or want to purchase furniture are being referred to a second store located in Boca Raton.

The owner, John Bender said, "It's going to have to in Boca yeah. So we will have to see what we are going to do with this one. Bender has been in the furniture business for more than 40 years, and is asking customers to be patient as they sort through orders and recover what the family lost. "It's tough. It's very hard. Very hard, " he said.

At one time, the property on Okeechobee Boulevard was up for sale. Customers who need help, should contact the Sunniland Patio Furniture store in Boca Raton.

The cause the fire is still under investigation.
