ORLANDO, FL (AP) -- Authorities say an Orlando man poured gasoline on his wife and tried to set her on fire.

Police say 31-year-old Marco Brown and his wife were arguing in the parking lot of the apartment complex where they lived early Saturday morning. The victim told officers that Brown punched her several times and choked her before pouring gasoline on her and her car.

Before Brown could ignite the gasoline, police say his brother intervened and allowed the wife to run away. Brown reportedly left the scene and was arrested later at a gas station.

Brown was charged with attempted murder, aggravated batter and domestic battery. He was being held without bail.
