MIAMI - A moment of silence was observed before the tipoff of Sunday's Miami Heat- Chicago Bulls game against AmericanAirlines Arena in honor of former Heat center Alan Ogg.

Ogg died Sunday in his native Alabama, after an infection reached his heart. He had checked into a hospital amid concerns of swine flu.

Ogg, 42, and Alec Kessler are the only known deceased former Heat players.

Ogg played 80 NBA games over three seasons, beginning in 1990 with the Heat. He also played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards, averaging 2.2 points and 1.7 rebounds during his career.

Ogg remains the University of Alabama-Birmingham's career leader with 266 blocked shots over four seasons. He also stands third in school history in field-goal percentage, averaging 6.4 points at the school.
