Broward homeless shelters to open Sunday

Broward County plans to open homeless shelters Sunday night, when temperatures are forecast to plunge into the low 40s.

The county has declared a cold weather emergency for Sunday and Monday nights.

Homeless people are advised to report to the following locations no later than 6:30 p.m. for transportation to shelters:

Pompano Beach City Hall, 100 W. Atlantic Blvd. (southeast corner)

The Salvation Army, 1445 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

Broward Outreach Center, 2056 Scott St., Hollywood
