The Florida Turnpike has reopened southbound from Sample Road to Commercial Boulevard in Broward County after the second trailer pulled by a double tractor-trailer overturned and spilled hazardous material.
Delays were initially back to Glades Road in southern Palm Beach County, according to the Sun Sentinel .
The wreck occurred at 8:28 a.m., according to the Broward County’s Sheriff Office. The second trailer was carrying 24 compressed hydrogen cylinders when it overturned.
Wsvn.com reports that hazmat crews were on the scene working to clean up the mess which included two leaking cylinders.
According to local10.com , no injuries were reported.
The exit ramp at Coconut Creek Parkway remains closed for the removal of the trailer, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
