UPDATE: Homestead police say they've located a man who was accused of taking his infant daughter and leaving following a fight with the child's mother.

EARLIER STORY

South Florida police are looking for a man who is accused of taking his infant daughter and leaving following a fight with the child's mother.

The father, 31-year-old Solomon Brown, took 6-month-old Niveyah Brown from their Homestead, Fla., apartment he shares with her mom in the 200 block of Southwest 14th Ave.

Police say Brown got into a fight Wednesday night with the Niveyah's mother, and that there is a previous history of domestic violence.

The mother, identified by friends simply as Alexis, did not wish to elaborate on the fight, but said she just wants her baby returned home safely.

"I just want my baby home. He's not a bad dad," she says through tears. "I know she's safe, I just want them home."

Authorities say that they don't have reason to believe Brown would want to harm Niveyah, but believe that Brown might attempt to leave the state of Florida with her.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Homestead Police at (305) 247-1535 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
