Here are a few safety tips to help protect yourself and loved ones.
Use sparklers and other legal novelties on a flat surfaces, never on grass.
Make sure you're in an open area.
Keep children and animals 30 feet away.
Light one item at a time and don't purchase or use anything that's unwrapped.
Keep a fire extinguisher or water hose nearby for emergencies.
Remember, if it launches or explodes, it is illegal to use and you must have a permit.
Anyone caught using fireworks illegally can face jail time and be fined up to $1,000 dollars.
