Parts of Florida have been covered in smoke Thursday.
Florida Today reports that a number of brush fires – including a large wildfire along the Florida-Georgia state line – are casting clouds of smoke across the eastern part of the state.
Weather officials in Melbourne say the smoke is causing hazy conditions in parts of Indian River and Brevard counties, according to Florida Today.
In Tampa the smell of smoke prompted 911 calls and emails.
The Florida Forestry Service says there are 97 active fires around the state.
