STUART – Officials have confirmed the body found Monday afternoon is that of Ronald Jett, the 60-year-old man who went missing from a boat near the Roosevelt Bridge on Saturday.
Jett of Jensen Beach fell off a boat near the Sunset Bay Marina before emergency crews were dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Saturday, according to a Martin County sheriff's report.
Major Camille Soverel with The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission confirmed that Jett's body had been found.
Officials said Bryan Irvine, chaplain with the Martin County Sheriff's Office, found the body.
FWC and the Sheriff's Office had continued to look for Jett Monday, said commission spokeswoman Carli Segelson.
They had been using a helicopter and sonar equipment on boats since the search began. They suspended the search at 8 p.m. Saturday night because visibility was reduced and currents were strong, but they resumed it Sunday morning.
