POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Detectives with the Broward County Sheriff's Office are investigating an altercation that turned into a fatal shooting before sunrise on Thanksgiving Day.
Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at 1:18 a.m. at 900 N.W. 8 Ave. in Pompano Beach.
When they arrived, deputies encountered the victim, Rodnel Toussaint, 30, on the pavement with apparent serious injuries.
The suspect, Raymond Joseph, 27, was kneeling at the victim's side. At that time, detectives said Joseph indicated his involvement in the incident and was taken into custody.
The two men had been involved in an fight which escalated and resulted in the victim being fatally shot. Toussaint was transported to Broward Health North were he was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m.
Joseph was arrested and will be charged with second-degree murder.
