Purse snatcher knocks 65-year-old woman to ground in Lauderdale Lakes

Police seek help identifying suspect

Lauderdale Lakes - The Broward Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help to find a purse snatcher caught on camera knocking a 65-year-old woman to the ground.

Footage of the strong-arm robbery, released Tuesday by the agency, shows Barbara Ann Nadeau being attacked shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday as she returned to her Cypress Chase condominium, in the 3400 block of Northwest 48th Avenue in Lauderdale Lakes.

Nadeau was carrying bags of groceries in front of a lobby elevator when the robber casually walked past her. Suddenly, he "grabbed her purse with such force that he spun her around and knocked her to the ground," sheriff's spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright said in a press release.

The robber then ran away with Nadeau's purse.

Authorities ask anyone with information about the robbery to call sheriff's Detective Armando Enrique at 954-321-4270, or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-8477.
