Orlando teen nipped by shark

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- The Volusia County Beach Patrol says an Orlando teen was nipped by a shark while wading in knee-deep water in New Smyrna Beach.

The 19-year-old suffered what authorities called a "very minor puncture wound" to the calf Monday afternoon. Authorities say the wound required one stitch.

Beach patrol spokeswoman Tamara Marris says the teen saw the three-to-four foot shark before it bit him.

She advises swimmers to get out of the water if they see a shark.
