Miami Beach hate crime possibly tied to Mideast conflict

(WTVJ, NBC NEWSCHANNEL) Police in South Florida are investigating an act of vandalism as a hate crime.

On Saturday, vandals egged two cars at a Miami Beach home and smeared cream cheese on the cars spelling out the words "Jew" and "Hamas".

The family says they think they were targeted because one of the vehicles has a sticker that says Miami Beach Jewish Community Center.

The crime was committed as the tense and violent conflict between Israel and Hamas continues but it's unclear if the attack was motivated by the crisis.
