(WTSP, CNN, WFLA, NBC NewsChannel) At least one home remains evacuated after a large sinkhole opened up Saturday in a Spring Hill, Florida neighborhood.
The sinkhole is estimated to be about 40 yards by 40 yards wide and around 30 feet deep.
Deputies from the Hernando County Sheriff's Office have monitored the depression since it was first reported.
Neighbors watched as the ground caved in.
“All I saw was a big cloud of dust shoot up from the ground and I saw a big hole open up inside and no, not a sound came out. No, nothing came out of it,” said Sam Haneiwich.
Police roped off the area to keep curiosity seekers away.
Residents of three other homes were allowed to return Sunday.
