Les Grigsby gets unique titanium wedding ring back 9 months after losing it at Venice Beach

Good Samaritan finds ring in the sand

VENICE BEACH, Fla. - A Florida man cried when he realized his wedding ring had slipped off his finger along Venice Beach and into the Gulf of Mexico.

It happened to Les Grigsby last summer while he was walking his dog.  Despite many unsuccessful searches, the only thing he and his wife clung to is the hope one day the ring would turn up.  Why is that?  The couple had unique matching titanium rings, covered in polka dots.

Every time they saw someone with a metal detector, they'd describe the unusual ring.  Nine months later, it paid off.  Just before Valentine's Day, local treasure hunter Mark Desermia found it.

Desermia did not know Grigsby's name and how to get in touch with him.  So a sign was made and posted on the beach.

Needless to say, the Grigsby's had a Valentine's Day to remember, all thanks to a Good Samaritan.
