Lauderdale Lakes school board member wants parents to watch what they're wearing at school

LAUDERDALE LAKES. Fla. - A South Florida school district is taking on dress code violators, and the violators aren't the students.

In a story first reported in the Sun Sentinel and confirmed by NewsChannel 5, a school board member in Broward County wants adults to set a dress code standard for their children.

She says she sees too many adults showing up on campus in pajamas, hair rollers, sagging pants and short shorts.

The concern is the double standard. Teachers are having a hard time telling kids they can't dress that way when their parents do.

One idea is to write and enforce a parent dress code policy or at least address it at a parent forum.
