An Immokalee teenager is dead and a 24-year-old man is behind bars after a shooting outside a Fort Myers restaurant.
Kanasha Isaac, 16, ate at the Ale House at 4400 Kernal Circle — off Colonial Boulevard — late Saturday. After eating, she and other people described only as "witnesses" returned to their car, according to a news release.
Before they left, a car pulled in front of them, blocking them in their parking space, authorities said. A passenger side window opened and witnesses said Henry Brunson, of Fort Myers, started shooting at them with a handgun. Brunson's vehicle then fled the scene.
Isaac's party drove her to Lee Memorial Hospital off Cleveland Avenue, where physicians pronounced her clinically deceased, reports said. However, she remained on life support.
On Sunday morning, Fort Myers police officers located Brunson and arrested him. He faces a second degree murder charge.
Brunson has a long history of arrests on obstruction, fraud and weapons charges, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office's website.
