TAMPA - A grandmother was tied up at a Tampa home Wednesday morning and the two children in her possession were taken by their parents in what investigators are calling a parental abduction/kidnapping. The parents are considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators say Joshua Michael Hakken, 35, and Patricia Hakken, 34, entered the home of Patricia Hauser at 14040 Shady Shores Drive around 6:30 a.m. Hauser is the maternal grandmother of Chase Hakken, 2, and Cole Hakken, 4.
Joshua Hakken tied up Hauser, took the children and fled in Hauser's 2009 silver Toyota Camry. Detectives believe the children could possibly be in a black 2006 GMC pickup truck registered to Hakken. The truck, with Florida tag number U95KT, may be pulling a 2012 Forrest River pop-up camper.
According to a sheriff's statement, "Both suspects are anti-government and have attempted a previous abduction at gunpoint in Louisiana."
Chase Hakken is described as 3', 33 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes last seen wearing pajamas of an unknown color.
Cole Hakken is described as 3' 9", 44 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes, also wearing pajamas of an unknown color.
An Amber Alert has been issued for the children.
