Ivan Alexander Parra dead in accident on I-95 after shooting incident

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - A 23-year-old man and an unidentified passenger were traveling northbound on Interstate 95 early Sunday morning after being involved in a shooting incident with no injuries.

Ivan Alexander Parra of Coral Springs and his passenger were suspects in a shooting that took place in Pompano Beach.

Their vehicle was being followed by the shooting victims.

Police said Parra lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway north of Sample Road and struck the concrete wall and a tree.

Parra was pronounced dead at the scene.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue transported the passenger to Broward Health North, where he remains in critical condition.

He will be charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting incident.
