Rescue crews from Key Biscayne and Miami saved a worker hanging from a high rise building on the Grand Bay Resort.
Reports came in shortly after 2:30 p.m. at 430 Grand Bay Drive of the person hanging from the 6th and 8th floor as a result of a scaffold collapse.
A resident at the building told NBC 6 that a contractor was on a scaffold doing exterior work when the scaffold tipped. The worker was hanging on the ocean side of the building.
More than an hour after emergency crews arrived to the scene, the worker was safely lowered to the ground. He was put on a stretcher and taken to the hospital to be checked.
The man appeared conscious and alert when he was rescued. His condition is unknown.
