VIERA, Fla. —The gunman who caused the Brevard County Courthouse in Viera to be locked down has been killed, according to WESH.com .
The Brevard sheriff told wftv.com that deputies attempted to use non-lethal weapons to end the standoff. He said the man responded in an aggressive manner and deputies shot him.
Sheriff Wayne Ivey told the Orlando Sentinel the man had previous run-ins with the law, "We don't know exactly what he is agitated over but there is a building history of this."
The sheriff's office has not yet identified the dead man.
