Girl scout robbed of cell phone while selling cookies

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is searching for two men who they say robbed a Girl Scout of her cell phone while she was selling cookies in front of a Winn-Dixie Sunday night.

Police responded to the store, located at 3260 Davie Boulevard, for reports of a robbery around 8 p.m. Once on scene, officers met with a group of Girls Scouts who told officers that two unknown men approached the girls' table and took one of the scout's cell phones.

The two men fled from the area on foot. Officers circulated the are but were unable to locate the suspects.

Police have contacted Winn-Dixie's manager to obtain surveillance footage. They hope to release it to the public shortly.
