Defense attorneys in the George Zimmerman case have released more photos.

The Orlando Sentinel says many  of the photos were released last year, but some are new.

Zimmerman faces trial in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Cfnews13.com reports one of the new photos shows Zimmerman in a cap and gown during a graduation ceremony at Seminole State College.

Martin was shot and killed on February 26, 2012, while returning from a nearby convenience store to his father's fiancée's house in a gated community in Sanford, Florida.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, acknowledged that he shot the unarmed 17-year-old, but said Martin physically attacked him and he fired in self-defense. Initially, no charges were pursued, and the case soon became the center of a national controversy.

Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder on April 11, 2012.

The Sentinel reports that five of the photos show Trayvon about an hour before the shooting as the 17-year-old bought Skittles and a soft drink at a 7-Eleven.
