ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A Florida driver stopped for what he thought was a log in the road and found a seven-foot alligator instead.
It was wandering across an interstate in St. Petersburg Sunday night.
It took a group of men about an hour to hoist the reptile into the bed of a pickup truck.
A trapper guessed the gator weighed more than 400 pounds.
A driver said he was in the area around midnight when he saw what he thought was a wooden log in the road.
When he stopped to check it out, the log started to move and he called the Florida Highway Patrol who then called a trapper
