When you work in law enforcement, you never know what to expect when you arrive at a scene.

Leon County Sheriff's Office detective Emily Shaw had her hands full when she was sent to investigate an animal call.

She had to wrangle a 9-foot long anaconda which was found on the side of a road near Tallahassee.

She was able to grab it by the tail and lure it into a bag.

The department said Shaw has experience handling exotic snakes.

Investigators believe it was someone's pet and either escaped or was released.
