LAUDERDALE BY THE SEA, Fla. -- The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident where someone placed an explosive device in front of a restaurant in Lauderdale By The Sea.
Just before midnight on Saturday night, residents near 218 Commercial Boulevard reported hearing an explosion.
Deputies found that someone had placed some type of explosive device in front of Giannino Italian Restaurant.
It is not known if the suspect or suspects were trying to break in, or just do damage to the business.
No one was injured and the investigation continues.
