Carnival's profits tumble: Efforts to lure new customers falls short

Cruise passengers continue to shy away from Carnival, despite lower prices.

The world's largest cruise company now expects revenue to drop 3 percent  this year, worse than its prior forecast.

The South Florida-based company says its profits for June through August are down 30-per cent from the same time last year.
 
Carnival is still trying to entice customers back with deals and guarantees, after several high-profile incidents on its cruise ships this year.
