Cocaine worth $20 million unloaded at Coast Guard Station Miami

MIAMI, Fla. - 1,327 pounds of cocaine worth an estimated $20 million was unloaded today by the U.S. Coast Guard at their Miami station.

Coast Guard officials say that they had interdicted the contraband off the coast of the Dominican Republic on April 21st.

The boat according to the Coast Guard had 25 packages on board that tested positive for cocaine.

Two alleged smugglers were taken into custody and turned over the law enforcement in Miami.

The Coast Guard estimates that it seized almost $2 billion worth of cocaine and over $20 million in marijuana in 2013 throughout the Caribbean.
