SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - A Coast Guard vessel unloaded more than 18 million dollars of cocaine Wednesday in Saint Petersburg.
The drugs were seized from the Gulf of Mexico last month during a raid called Operation Martillo.
The operation is an international effort aimed at stopping the use of Central American waters to transport illegal drugs, weapons or cash.
This was one of two raids where the Coast Guard seized drugs.
The second happened near Colombia where authorities recovered 10 bales that tested positive for cocaine.
