FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Deputies say Carl Watts saw himself on the news, then turned himself in.
The Broward Sheriff's Office has asked the public to help find a man who attempted to kidnap a teenager from a bus stop.
BSO says it received about a dozen calls from the public identifying the man as Carl Watts.
Then, Watts called detectives after seeing himself on television, NBC 6 Miami reports.
Deputies say on May 1, a man tried to grab an 18-year-old who was sitting at a bus stop outside a gas station on W. Sunrise Boulevard.
“He could’ve took me. He could’ve killed me, raped me, all types of stuff,” the victim told NBC 6. “He kept wanting me to come in his car. He said, ‘Oh I’ll drop you off at school,’ and I was like no.”
Deputies said Watts has a lengthy criminal history. Read more from NBC Miami: LINK.
