Alex, Pamela Brooks
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Brad Brooks said Tuesday that he does not believe his ex-wife is capable of killing their ten year old daughter.
Pamela and her ten year old daughter Alex Brooks were found dead inside their West Palm Beach home on Thursday.
"I don't think it has set in yet. It seems to be a dream. A bad dream," Brooks said.
Brooks says he did everything and anything for his daughter.
"She had a short life, but a good life," Brooks said.
Brooks says his daughter's passion was riding horses. He says he bought her a horse and that she even went to state finals.
"It meant everything to her," Brooks said.
Police say Alex and Pam were found dead with injuries from a knife Thursday.
"I just don't understand it," Brooks said.
According to Brooks attorney, police told them, "Whatever happened in that house was done by someone in the home."
Police say there are no suspects and no one dangerous is on the run.
"I don't think my ex-wife could have done this. Not to her own daughter. Alex was her life and meant everything to her," Brooks said.
Despite reports of alcoholism, Brad says his ex-wife never abused Alex to his knowledge.
"Alex never said anything negative. Nothing at all," Brooks said.
Brooks says now he is trying to focus on the good times and the memories.
"I'm going to miss her a lot. I wish it would have been me instead of her," Brooks said.
A memorial for Alex will be held on Wednesday at King's Academy. A scholarship fund has also been set up in the 10 year old's name.
