Boynton Beach kayaker towed by hammerhead shark for 8 miles

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A 22-year-old Boca Raton man caught an 11-foot hammerhead shark while he was kayaking Sunday.

Adam Fisk said he was kayaking near the Boynton Inlet when he saw the large shark on his line.

"I hear a splash and hear the kayak jerk, I look over and see the hammerhead right there just a couple feet away from the kayak. He took the bait and swam due east," said Fisk.

It latched on to his bait and ended up dragging the kayak about eight miles up the coast to Lake Worth.

"There was nothing I could do so I was calling my friends telling them what was going on," he said. "I was really wanting good video for our website. But it was pulling me way off and I was thinking I'd have to paddle back. I wasn't a huge fan of that but it was a cool ride, I went really went."
