For the first time since the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, the gates surrounding the building were opened to the public.

All night, a team of workers used paint and canvas to build a one of a kind piece of art.

The mural was created by artist Mr. Brainwash and, in part, by the community.

What happened inside the walls of Pulse on June 12 shook him.

"It's a statement that we are here. We're not forgetting. We are right here giving love," he said.

The new mural, which people added to it with written messages, will sit behind the commemorative fence that surrounds the nightclub.

It has colors of the rainbow flag and a heart painted in each color.

The event was held on Spirit Day, a day designed to bring attention to LGBTQ bullying.

49 people died in the attack.

Prints of the mural are expected to go on sale on Friday, with proceeds going to the One Pulse Foundation and GLAAD, to help make a memorial site out of the nightclub.
