Areas in Collier County and Lee County flooded and impassable

NAPLES - The heavy rainstorm making its way through Naples this afternoon is leaving several local roads flooded and some are being reported by deputies as impassable.

Collier County Sheriff’s Office are reporting these intersections as either impassable or flooded as of about 2:30 p.m.

Intersection of U.S. 41 East and Commercial Boulevard is impassable
Intersection of Fifth Avenue North and Goodlette-Frank Road is impassable
Intersection Golden Gate Parkway and Santa Barbara Boulevard is impassable
Intersection of Airport Pulling Road and Mercantile Avenue is “seeing some heavy rainfall to the point of flooding,” according to Kristi Lester, Collier County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.


“We are asking people to use caution in the area or seek an alternate route,” Lester said. Naples Police Department is reporting three flooded areas in the city as of 2:15 p.m.

Golden Gate Parkway between U.S. 41 and Goodlette Frank Road is flooded and impassable, according to John Barkley, NPD spokesman. Central Avenue between Ninth Avenue North and Goodlette-Frank Road is flooded and getting to the point of impassable.

Fleischmann Boulevard between U.S. 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road is flooded and in certain areas impassable, according to Barkley.
