Star Alliance airline Avianca announced in a press release on Wednesday that it will no longer fly to Venezuela, citing issues with airport infrastructure in the country.
Venezuela needs to "adjust many processes to meet international standards, better its airport infrastructure, and guarantee consistency of operations," the announcement read.
The airline stops selling tickets to Venezuela on Wednesday, and its last flight into the country will be from Bogotá to Caracas on August 16, 2017.
