4 injured when boats crash outside bar along Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- Four people were injured after their boats collided in the Intracoastal Waterway near a popular Broward County bar.

A 31’ Angler, operated by Max Irvine of Deerfield Beach collided with a 22’ Twin Vee, operated by Andre Neves of Pompano Beach, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Irvine, and his passenger, Amanda Macke of Fort Lauderdale were not injured, however, Neves, and passenger Juliani Da Costa Maria of Boca Raton, suffered life-threatening injuries, FWC said.

Investigators said William Roundtree and Evelyn Roundtree of Boca Raton were on the second vessel and they sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The Sun Sentinel reports the crash happened just before midnight near Bokampers Sports Bar & Grill.
