GREAT INAGUA, Bahamas - The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two men and their dogs Wednesday from a fishing vessel that was taking on water off an island in the Bahamas.
It happened after the fishing boat Island Cruiser called for help.
The 55-foot boat was about 70 miles off of Great Inagua in the Bahamas when a coast guard helicopter out of Clearwater, Fla., arrived.
The vessel lost all electronics and steering, and a pump supplied by the coast guard was no help.
The crew of the MH 60 Jayhawk chopper hoisted the men and the two dogs from the distressed fishing boat.
The helicopter took them all to safety in Matthew town on Great Inagua. No injuries were reported.
