CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- Four north Florida sheriff's deputies are on paid administrative leave after a shooting that left one suspect dead.
Citrus County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Heather Yates says deputies responded to a call late Tuesday about an armed man who had forced his way inside the Citrus Springs home of his estranged wife. The woman's roommate and two children also were inside the home at the time.
A SWAT team was called to the scene. Yates says that shortly after they arrived, David James Barclay of Dunnellon left the home and exchanged gunfire with deputies.
Barclay died at the scene. No one inside the home was injured.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating. Yates says four deputies were placed on leave pending the outcome of that investigation.
