SOUTH FLORIDA: Cheap (And Free) Food on July 11

Forget bringing your lunch to work on Friday, July 11, 2014. Several places around town are offering free (or cheap) food! Here's a simple guide to beef up your Frugal Friday:

1. Chick-Fil-A: Friday's the one day you won't mind being called a cow. During Cow Appreciation Day, a full head-to-hoof cow look will get you a free meal, while even just wearing a cow-themed hat or purse will get you a free entree. An easy tip: print out, cut out, and wear parts of the Cow Starter Kit on Chick-Fil-A's site (like I did to look ridiculous in the video above), and you're likely to get a free meal.

2. Bar Louie: The bar is celebrating its two year anniversary at 200 Clematis Street. As it counts up the years, you can count up the savings. On Thursday and Friday, you can get $1 burgers, $2 martinis, and $5 beer buckets.

3. 7-Eleven: The convenience store chain has 13 locations in Palm Beach County. Stop in any store around our area from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and get a free small Slurpee. This year, 7-Eleven is taking it a step further: download their app and show it to the cashier, and you can get a different freebie every day through next weekend, from a Big Gulp to Twinkies.
