PHOENIX - If you're eager to get an iPhone, you may want to wait just a bit longer. Rumor has it that people are testing out the iPhone 5.
It's been just over a year since the iPhone 4 was launched, but according to the website Chip Hazard, beta testers with AT&T are rigorously testing the next generation of the iPhone, rumored to be launching in September.
The Phoenix Business Journal says word on the street is that other major carriers, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon were also given the phone to try.
Of course, there's been a whole lot of talk about what will be so different from the iPhone 4. Insiders at Chip Hazard speculate it will likely have a dual-core processor, larger screen, thinner design, and maybe even greater storage.
Chip Hazard's sources also say people who have the beta phone are running tests on signal reception and connectivity. Once all the testing is done, the phones go back to Apple, so the company can make finishing touches.
Some say a September release day is not going to happen, especially since test phones are still in the hands of beta testers. We'll just have to wait and see.
