CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- The Atlas V rocket launched this morning around 8:30 a.m., carrying a top secret satellite.
According to spaceflightnow.com, the rocket left from Launch Pad 41 at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
The Atlas V was scheduled for launch Monday, but was delayed.
Space Flight Now reports a weather team was keeping a close eye on ground winds before the launch.
"Blowing from the east at Complex 41, the limit for today's launch is 26 knots. Winds had been gusting up to that redline threshold a few hours ago, but have since been trending down a bit and staying within constraints," the live blog of the launch states.
