Amazon to open actual stores? Kindle Fire maker reportedly planning physical store in Seattle

Gawker is reporting that Amazon.com , the popular website that sells close to everything, is said to be planning an actual store in Seattle -- and is even eyeing the creation of a national chain.

Trade blog Good E-Reader reports that Amazon plans to roll out a boutique store to see if a physical store would be popular with the public, as well as profitable.

According to Gawker , the small, pilot shop would mainly focus on Kindles and accessories.

"It's not clear if the store will even stock books, but Amazon's publishing imprints have been banned from Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million, so there would be a rationale for doing so," the Gawker article states.
