One person rescued from morning apartment fire in Belle Glade

 

BELL GLADE, Fla. -- Firefighters rescued a resident of a Belle Glade apartment complex this morning after a fire broke out.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews responded to the scene in the 400 block of SW Ave C Place around 5:42 a.m.

Initial reports stated that there was a room on fire in the complex. On arrival, crews found the two-story multi-residence building with fire coming from the first floor.

Bystanders told firefighters that there may still be someone inside one of the apartments.

Crews quickly brought the fire under control. During the primary search, firefighters found one resident in an upstairs unit that was assisted out to safety.

The person did not suffer any injuries and did not need further medical attention.

This fire was contained before 6:30. The cause is under investigation.
