Junior Richmond has been charged with setting a house on fire with four children inside

BELLE GLADE, Fla. - A Belle Glade man has been charged with assaulting his girlfriend and setting her house on fire with four young child inside.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies say that Junior Richmond got into an argument with his girlfriend over a computer tablet.

Investigators say that Richmond went to the victim's closet and used a cigarette lighter to set her clothes on fire.

The fire then spread to the rest of the house.

Deputies say that Richmond punched his girlfriend repeatedly in the head with a closed first.

PBSO says that the victim and four children aged 12, 8, 2 and 1 were inside when the house was set on fire.

They were able to get out of the house safely.

Richmond has been charged with arson of an occupied dwelling, battery and four counts of child abuse.
