Family wants to find loving homes for wolf dogs

BELLE GLADE, Fla. - Brian Lohmann is caring for six animals. He feeds them early in the morning and at night.

Lohmann said, "It's a full time commitment and they are big animals and they eat a lot."

The dogs belonged to his father who passed away last year. While they look a little different, he says they are similar to an unusual breed known as wolf dogs. "I don't know how much wolf and how much dog, depending on who I send pictures to I get a different story."

Right now his priority his finding them a permanent place to call home. "I don't want to put them down," he said.

Lohmann can't dedicate the time his father did to the animals. "It's a commitment and I have certainly learned that over the last 8 1/2 months. I knew how much time dad had put in with them but I didn't know how much was him wanting to and how much was necessary."

Finding homes for Lobo, Apache and their four legged friends is what he wants to do to honor his father's memory.  "I'm hoping there is a place out there for them whether a wildlife center or sanctuary or refuge along those lines where there is a place that has a lot of acreage where they can run around."
